The U4164A logic analyzer module operates in two modes: four-channel sampling status mode and 10 GHz quarter-channel timing mode. A single probe point on each input enables four different sampling locations with two independently adjusted thresholds.
The four-channel sampling status mode means less space is required to detect high data rate signals such as DDR4, DDR5, LPDDR4, and LPDDR5, which require different sampling positions to read and write data, and separate rising/falling edge sampling for data rates greater than 2.5 Gb/s. The quarter channel (10 GHz) timing mode provides up to 1.6 Gb of sample per input. In addition to the new mode of operation, the U4164A Logic Analyzer module includes a number of new features to help high-speed digital and DDR/LPDDR memory design engineers speed up start-up and commissioning systems. U4164A features timing mode deoffset control, dual threshold in dual sampled status mode, clock lag control to adjust status mode sensitivity to noise, and the industry's deepest storage depth options (400 Mb full channel, 800 Mb half channel, and 1.6 Gb quarter channel).
