The R&S SMW200A is an ideal digital modulation signal generator for the development of new broadband communication systems, 3G and 4G base station verification, or aerospace and defense needs.
The built-in baseband generator generates I/Q modulated signals with a bandwidth of up to 160MHz to meet Generation 4 mobile standards (e.g., LTE-Advanced and IEEE 802.11ac), so the R&S SMW200A is designed to meet future requirements. Its modular and extensible structure enables users to optimize the generator to suit specific practical applications, as well as upgrade the signal generator as needed.
A second RF path can be added without compromising the signal quality, as well as up to two baseband modules and four fading simulator modules. As a result, the R&S SMW200A can create signaling scenarios that previously required multiple instruments or were not possible at all. From MIMO up to 8x2 to LTE-Advanced carrier aggregation including fading, no instrument has previously been able to provide such an upscale signal generation capability.
If more than 2 RF paths are required, an external R&S®SGS100A signal generator can be connected. The intuitive operation concept based on the touch screen can provide the user with a panoramic measurement. Deliver results quickly, no matter how complex.
